taennyn: (i've seen better days)
I hate everything.

So. Teen Wolf. A show I refuse outright to watch, and only read fic because a horrifyingly large number of really good writers write for it.

(I also edit a Teen Wolf monster!fic for Veggie, and have been for approximately a year now, but we're not talking about that.)

Apparently I have feelings. Feelings that must be expressed through writing.

(And body counts.)

I haven't written anything in months, and now a goddamned Teen Wolf fic won't leave me alone.
taennyn: (dancing before winter)
*squints at appointments etc within that time* Flying across an ocean, tax appointment, physio appointment, possibly dinner on an island (assuming I can get there), and a weekend of hauling Stuff on another island.

Well, hopefully some of you are around. :)

taennyn: (st. mary's reflection - distance)
Woke up at 3:47 this morning with a scream* echoing in my head, ended up trying to go back to sleep a little after five, after watching a couple of trailers and reading old Ursula Vernon posts.

Possibly the first time I can remember wherein I couldn't go back and rework the ending of a dream that woke me up.

cut for disturbing imagery )

*: if you've ever seen/listened to the musical Into the Woods, said scream was . . rather like Rapunzel's, in Act II.

But blue eyes called to blue. They had both recognized the other as having an inner self which the world at large seldom suspected; and they both shared a hidden ear for a trumpet call that passed unheard by most men and women. (Gordon Dickson, Beyond the Dar al-Harb, pg 29)

more from Gordon Dickson short stories )

"Gods," murmured Ranald, "mourn that you can only fly; and were not a born a human who knows what it is to climb." (Gordon Dickson, Things Which Are Caesar's, pg 252)

Taennyn: Mm, true. Edmund would have topped teenage!Caspian, though. :)
Merka: Oh hell yes. ::laugh::
Merka: . . . .damn. That's actually a good pairing. / Taennyn: . . Damn. Stupid hindbrain. ::tries to scrub mental images::
Taennyn: . . yes, it is. innit.
Merka: Yeh. The older (if not strictly in years, maybe, at that point) darker-wiser, the younger-bright!shiny-seekingapproval-and-love?
Taennyn: . . you're not helping me scrub this from the brain.

It was somehow ironically appropriate that Edmund Pevensie breathed his last on a cold, stormy night, alone in a large house, dreaming of summer. )

Pele? Pele?!

As in the Hawai'ian volcano goddess?

Vesta, where the hell did you come up with this? I mean, fae, I can deal with. Kitsune, weirwolves, even the damned djinn. I'm used to weird things wandering in here. But god-touched? Hell--god-bor--

Oh, dammit. Kingfisher. ****. ***** ** * **** *****.

*twists around to glare at Dante* Don't you dare. Yes, it would probably work. Yes, the modern Fire-eyes arc would fit it. But NO. There are limits.

*turns back to Vesta* Stop playing with the lava. Please. It looks like mercury in your hand, yes, and it's an amazing image. Please. Thank you.

Christos, I don't know. Ask Damien. I'm sure there's someone around here he's mad enough at to apply that to.

*slackjawed* I knew Aodh liked dancing to the French stuff. He the one taught you to do that? Oh, the Morrigan? Figures, he taught her.

. . . . *whispered* Lord and Lady, I never knew. *slightly dazed* Lady Larathia? I don't know when this happened, but Dante and Vesta appear to be a pair. To the point he's actually dancing with her . . .
taennyn: a girl sitting in front of a field of fallen leaves (contemplative)
I just dreamed them. And they are saying no names.

While walking in my dreams, I came upon a story . . . )
