Still Sunday
Oct. 21st, 2007 08:21 pm(So I have a tendency to make patterns in my sidebar. Hush.)
Yesterday netted the house an excellent chopping block, and eventually either firewood or a lovely grainy table (wandered onto craigslist in search of firewood, the remaining free at one location was . . Very Large and Still Very Fresh cedar. Hail unto stubborn boyfriend and boyfriend's truck), a wedge, and an axe.*
Today got us about a quarter-cord of madrona/arbutus/madrone wood, aged a year and a month or so. The parenthetically mentioned individual was again indispenable in endeavour, still having a truck and much more able to shift chunks of wood than I am. He also started a fire with hand-chopped kindling, as opposed to the standard method of cardboard and small rounds Fwumph. Hail. :)
*: Axes are fun. Sadly, I'm not going to try practicing strikes, as lo, I'm fond of my right arm remaining attached to the rest of my body.
