Soooomeone was a rock star in his five-six days. :D I think he grew the sixth tail from affecting the special effects.

I think--but am not sure--that this series of events is what put the Trickwood Unification on the keep-city's radar? (As opposed to several of the princes' summer vacations.) Some alliance of tributary barons trying to gang up on Hernén.

the spark's from a 'spirit of the west' song, called 'home for a rest'

the chorus goes 'you'll have yo excuse me, I'm not at my best, I've been gone for a week (month) and I've been drunk since I left. this so-called vacation will soon be my death, I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest'

the first verse is 'We arrived in december and london was cold, we stayed in the bars, down near charring-cross road, we never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak. kept the shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coat.' (chorus)

There was something moving in the grass, rustles that only mostly matched the prevailing breeze.

He waited at the edge, bow half-drawn, to see if it was hunting something else, or hunting him.

From somewhere else in the grass a wolf sang out, echoed in chorus by a dozen other voices, and the thing in the grass erupted, showing itself a bixie with torn wings, angry and injured and hunted.

He put an arrow through the neck, another into the barrel-shaped body, backing away as best he could with his eyes on the screaming beast.

Something huffed a warning, and he froze, until it laughed in a nearly-human voice and said "Thank you for the assist, human."

Sascha's Fintain's, her mother was the [Autumn] ambassador until not very long before the first war started, and the lady was either full or half dragon.

Well, being on a boat most of the time, it's imminently practical to know. =D

The interior of the horse tasted like burnt insulation, bite of soot and chemicals in the back of her throat, made her cough and half-choke. She took apart the air system in systematic fashion, replacing anything that seemed scorched or damaged, spent a strand of pearls for more spares, a chance to get herself clean.

Even after everything was replaced, there was still a ghost of a smell left, a smoky taste that permeated everything and made her twitchy about parts failing. Again.

He did that intentionally too, didn't he.

Either way, Rita has her face covered and is shaking her head at him. Poor Samuil.

That's one way to get yourself eaten, ta.

...but oy, man would it have sucked if he hadn't been. And probably soon.

This does not surprise me. At all.

They probably had awesome special effects.

I wants it. *purrs* Nice sounding place. Nice moment, too.

She is naturally an indulgent sort. She gives good gifts at every opportunity, matches things to tastes and means (what's the good of records if there's no gramaphone to play them on?), buys herself wonderful clothes and gets in every bar fight that comes her way for the sheer joy of fighting. She has lovers in every city.

But the true indulgence is sitting here, with the men who remember her from before she struck her bargain, listening to them talk and laugh and exist.

*g* And I bet that worked out So Well for them.

Good outside view of the family, though. Kind of wonder where they're from, however...and how they got there.
