Well. That didn't work.
Sep. 7th, 2012 05:37 pmTook the Malenas I bought a few weeks ago to a shoe repair guy a couple of weeks ago, asked if he could make them a blue-green. Due to a slight miscommunication, I have very-nearly-black shoes.
Several hours of murdering smurfs later*, I have very-nearly-black shoes with slight uneven hints of emerald lurking. I even tried peering at another cobbler, but he wouldn't even discuss dyeing leather shoes.
I am informed that the shoes still look quite good. Just, y'know, not what I was hoping for. =\
Om. Ow. Om.
In other news, have a link to some phenomenal sculptural work.
*: Acetone or rubbing alcohol did take off some blue dye, especially in combination with cotton rags or tissue paper. So my kitchen trash is full of white rags splashed more or less thoroughly with blue.
