taennyn: (come back another day)
I hate being Just Sick Enough. Processing speed falls, concentration falls, but you don't really feel wretched enough that curling up on the couch with a heat pack, cold meds, and The Gospel According To St. Bastard* is just good sense.

The new nerve med may be helping with symptoms some. Not sure--bad hand's been cold but not as tingly as usual, but due to sick and getting-on-a-medication-Side-Effects I haven't been writing so the general stress-test isn't available.

Fnagh, flist. Fnagh. I am grumpy and congested and uninteresting. I am sorry.

Regular programming should resume in February, with a small explosion in the Russian Fairytales sector and some entertaining cussing as I try to drag words out of uncommunicative bastards (Yes, Sinclair, I mean you). Sixteen more pieces to get that poll-monster dealt with. *dry* I may manage it before it's been a full year since the original responses . . .

Hn. I'm due for a sparks-post, too. Now if only my brain would finish booting.

*: My 'I'm Sick' movies: Nightmare Before Christmas, Sahara, The Mummy, both the Eddie Izzard performances we own, and occasional others. I swear this makes sense in some reality.

pfft--i am sorry you are grumpy and sick. hey, at least you are threatening to make feb interesting, and if anyone's capable of that, you are.

*eyes footnote* if yasha ever locates that reality, he should give the rest of us a shout. *ducks and hides!*

*snork!* okay, am slightly distracted at the thought of yasha on cold meds. (not that this sounds like anything remotely resembling a good idea.)

Those sound like perfectly good movies to be watching! (I would not recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion while down with a bad flu and hopped up on Nyquil, however. I'm not sure my brother and I came out of the same.)

And considering my sinuses seem to be in some stage of revolt with resultant sniffles and sore throat and the 100 pound moose puppy wants to cuddle, I may need to consider what to watch while waiting for the vet to call.

We did! The entire episode list from around 7 or 8 in the morning till late that afternoon/evening. While running around 100 degree fevers on antibiotics and Nyquil! It was very very strange. Your movie choices look much better now, don't they? :D

She mainly wants comfort because her May isn't around. =|

[pets] Hear hear. And I think those movies make perfect sense. Or at least as much sense as mainlining Escaflowne on Nyquil ever did. ^_^

Hey, it was just the once! Logic and reason had no place there!

Definitely not! ^_^ Comfort sick movie watching doesn't need to make sense!

It probably makes LESS sense - I still have NO idea WTF was going on from the second third of the series on. Allen wasn't too annoying, though, so possibly the Nyquil blunted that. ^_^

I've never seen either Evangelion OR Utena. I'm assured that I really ought to blow the braincells watching them at least once but somehow I've never gotten around to it. ^___^

(I'm pretty sure my watching of Escaflowne mostly consisted of occasional bouts of me snoring when the Nyquil knocked me out, followed by waking up a few episodes later with no more idea of what was going on then I had when I conked out.)

There are people who've watched it perfectly sober who had similar experiences, so you're probably all right. ;)

why no, that's not the voice of experience at ALL

We do not believe you.

Just in case.

I am amazed by how well Cold FX works. Two tablets a day, and suddenly I'm not drowning in my own snot.

From the other side, it does shit all for me, and it's ingredient is "ginseng" and if you ask a doc about it, they'll do anything from the polite "whatever you want to piss your money away on, dear" to a lengthy rant about snake-oil.

Nasal spray (just the saline bottles) rinse things out gloriously. Edit this stuff (http://www.medicinenet.com/sodium_chloride-nasal_spray/article.htm), or a neti-pot, but my experience so far is I like the sprays better.

So you have to pay through the nose not to be drowning in your own snot?

Derricks.

YouTube has a bunch of Eddie Izzard stuff, last time I checked, in case you were wondering. I wouldn't advise wandering topics too widely on YouTube, though, it can get very very weird.
